YCN - Submission guidelines

Submission Guidelines

I am ready to submit my work. I have checked the submission guidelines again which can view below. There are not really any submission restrictions apart from the files need to zipped in a folder and must be less than 50 megabytes.

INTRODUCTION

The annual YCN Student Awards exist to inspire, support and showcase emerging creative talent, and to connect it with the creative industries. The Awards centre around a collection of live creative briefs, written each year by partnering organisations, and spanning broad creative disciplines.
The Call for Entries for this year’s programme launched on Thursday 1st November 2012.
The Deadline for Submissions is 6pm on Thursday 14th March 2013.
This year we are continuing with the online submissions process for the YCN Student Awards. All those wishing to enter the Awards must do so online.
As always, we are still expectant of the same loving attention to detail in the presentation and layout of ideas within your digital entry. Entries will need to be zipped up and uploaded via the YCN website along with the completion of a simple online registration. We do of course recognise the importance of the handheld, tactile and physical in demonstrating or enlivening a submission; so welcome the submission of selected physical elements (where you feel it's appropriate) to support digital entries.

HOW WORK IS JUDGED

Work submitted in response to each brief is closely examined by the brands and organisations that wrote it, often alongside the agencies with whom they work. They are asked to draw up a shortlist of the submissions felt to be the most outstanding from all those received in response to their brief. The originators of these submissions are awarded with a Commendation. There are no First, Second or Third nominations, if you have been Commended this means your work has been chosen as one of the most outstanding entries to that particular brief, you will be Commended alongside a small number of other entries for your brief.
The judging process takes place over April and May, with six weeks set aside for the brands to carefully look through the entries. The results of Commendations are published online at the beginning of June 2013, those Commended will recieve a letter in the post.

STUDENT AWARDS CEREMONY AND YCN STUDENT ANNUAL

An annual Awards ceremony sees all those Commended colourfully honoured in a prestigious setting. For the last two years the Awards ceremony has been hosted at Shoreditch Town Hall. The YCN Student Annual showcases all work Commended as part of the most recent programme, alongside the very latest live creative briefs.
